BOLOC General Shipping Policy

Our shipping charges are based on courier rates that are passed right to the customer. There are a couple of factors that highly influence the cost of shipping – these include: shipment weight, the size (or dimensions) of the package, number of packages, the destination address and the shipping method.

  • Shipment Weight – this includes all items that are being shipped as well as any air pillows or kraft paper inserts that keep the products from shifting inside the box during movement to you.
  • Size (Dimensions) of the package – to ensure that your purchase arrives in great condition, we do not overstuff boxes. We also try to keep packages lighter than 10kg so that you (and the carrier person), don’t hurt themselves moving the package along.
  • Number of Packages – If you purchase multiple units, it may be likely that you received more than one package delivered to your location. Because we do not like to overstuff the boxes, we’ll add a second box to safely ship your order.
  • Destination Address – our selection may be shipped from multiple places around South Africa. Like an airplane ticket, the further away or remote from home you go, the more expensive the ticket might be.
  • Shipping Method – the shipping method refers to the speed of the delivery. The faster the shipping, the more expensive it may be.
  • Flat Rate Shipping – Get Free Shipping on your orders for delivery in the Durbanville area and Collection from two of our pick up points.

Shipping to main center Cape Town is R90

Shipping to main centre South Africa (Joburg, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth, George, Durban, East London, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein, Witbank, West Rand, Welkom, Polokwane, Swellendam, Mooreesburg, Klerksdorp, Kimberley and Harrismith) is R135

Shipping to outlying/regional areas is R195

We utilize Dawn Wing and you can expect to have one of these courier drivers knocking on your door with your order.

Delivery time

For customers that just can’t wait for your order – well, we don’t blame you!

Orders to Main centres are typically delivered within 1-3 business days once shipped. 

Outlying areas can take a little longer than that. If you have any questions please let us know!

Since couriers do not conduct standard business on either Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays (even for express shipping) the actual delivery date may differ from the Estimated Scheduled Delivery Date. For example: A package shipped via “Next Day” leaving our warehouse on a Friday for Durban, will not arrive until Monday/ Tuesday, even though it has a one day transit time. 

BOLOC cannot be held responsible for any packages which are delayed due to unforeseen delays from any Courier Company.

Tracking info

Once your order has been packed and processed, we enter the shipping info into the system. As soon as the parcel has been scanned in at the depot we will advise you of the tracking info.

We send out emails to let you know your your tracking info, or if there are any troubles with the delivery so you can contact the courier to get to the bottom of the issue. If you have any concerns you can pop us an email too at info@boloc.co.za.

International Orders

International orders are not currently set up on the site for a number of reasons, mainly the logistics involved in shipping outside SA, but if you are outside the borders of South Africa, send us an email to info@boloc.co.za, we will gladly try to help you out. 

Undelivered Package: 

Before completing your order online, we strongly recommend that you check both your billing address and shipping address to ensure accuracy. We cannot be held liable for incorrect address details entered by you.

From time to time, customers may incorrectly fill these fields and submit orders. BOLOC will only ship the products to the address that is supplied on the order. In the case that an incorrect address is supplied, the Courier will try their best to contact the customer to confirm a correct address. If all attempts fail, the Courier will send this product back to BOLOC. You will be liable for any charges incurred.

If an order is unable to be delivered by the Courier due to an incorrect address as provided by the purchaser, and the package is returned to BOLOC, there are two options available to the customer:

  • The Customer would still like the order reshipped: The customer is responsible to pay a Return-to-Sender fee (an administrative fee from the courier), as well any secondary shipping charges to have the product reshipped to a corrected address.
  • The Customer would like to cancel the order: if the customer no longer wants the product, the amount refunded will be for the total purchase price less initial shipping & processing costs, less the Return-to-Sender fee from the Courier Company, as well as less a 20% Handling Fee.

The Courier will make 3 attempts on business days to make a delivery. If an order is unable to be delivered due to the customer not being available for acceptance, and the package is returned to BOLOC, there are two options available to the customer:

  • The Customer would still like the order reshipped: The customer is responsible to pay a Return-to-Sender fee (an administrative fee from the Courier company), as well as any secondary shipping charges to have the product reshipped.
  • The Customer would like to cancel the order: if the customer no longer wants the product, the amount refunded will be for the total purchase price less initial shipping & processing costs, less the Return-to-Sender fee from the Courier company, as well as less a 20% Handling Fee.

FREQUENTLY ASKED SHIPPING QUESTIONS:

If I place my order today, when should I expect my delivery?

The speed of the delivery depends on when the order is shipped and the destination to where it is shipped. BOLOC processes most orders within 24-48 business hours of confirmation of order. Depending on where the order is shipped, whether it is a major centre or an outlying area, the Courier company can take 2-4 working days to deliver the order after it has been collected from BOLOC.

How much does shipping cost / what is the cost to ship my order?

Why is shipping more expensive than the items I am purchasing?

Shipping costs from all Courier companies rely heavily on three factors: 

  • the weight of the box (the heavier the package, the more expensive the cost),
  • the destination of the package (the further away from the major centre to ship, the more expensive the cost), and
  • the speed of the service (the faster to deliver the package, the more expensive it may be).

Can you ship to a PO BOX address?

At the moment, the Courier company requires a physical address to make a delivery. No deliveries will be made to a PO Box address.

Can BOLOC ship to locations outside South Africa?

Why does the shipped package weigh more than the items I purchased?

To ensure that your order arrives in great condition, we take the utmost care to package the products securely with air pillows, packing peanuts, and/or packing paper. Therefore, any packaging material and inserts added into the box may make  the package heavier.

Is my order available for customer pick-up?

Picking up your order is an option available for everyone. The address is located at 2C Disa Street, Durbanville. If you would like to pick up your order and save on shipping costs, please contact customer service at info@boloc.co.za to make pick up arrangements. Before making your trip to visit us, contact customer service to confirm the pick-up date – you will also need to bring a photo ID that matches the billing information of the purchaser (or a give a copy of your ID to the person picking up the order). Customer pick-up is available during standard business hours Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.  Arrangements can be made over weekends should you not be able to pick up during the week.
